Dear Parishioners,

To the faithful of the Diocese of Orlando. I encourage you to support the second collection for Catholic Charities of Central Florida that is scheduled for next weekend, November 1-2.This year, more than 30,000 families will look to Catholic Charities’ emergency assistance for a helping hand to nourish and support them in numerous ways. Many are the working poor who have never before sought help from us. Since we do not help people because they're Catholic but because we are Catholic, 70% of those seeking help at Catholic Charities are non-Catholics. For most, Catholic Charities is their only alternative. The first encounter of the needy within our 90 parishes and missions in nine counties of Central Florida is often through Catholic Charities. This collection will not fund general overh ... Read More »

Dear Parishioners,

Today's Gospel begins with a somewhat familiar scene. Some influential members of Jewish society, the disciples of the Pharisees, and some Herodians are trying to trip Jesus up with a trick question, Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not? On the surface, this appears to put Jesus in a bind. If he answers yes, he may appear to be sanctioning the oppressive rule and paganistic practices of the Roman Empire. If he answers no, he ... Dear Parishioners,

We have been living in turmoil in recent weeks with our government and financial problems. We don’t exactly know what God wants of us in all this and how we are to react. On November 4, we will be using our mind and hearts to choose our political leaders. We need God’s guidance. Our Bishops here in Florida have spoken about this and in your bulletin you will find their statement. I am also copying in this bulletin four paragraphs about forming consciences for faithful Read More »

We started the month of October dedicated to the Rosary  and I am sure that you all recite it daily. It works wonders spiritually and mentally. It was wonderful to see the little children with their mothers reciting it during the Holy Hour last first Friday followed  by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament from 6 to 7 pm. If you need a Rosary, just ask me for one!!!

Dear Parishioners,

In a fundamental sense, we really own nothing. When it comes to all of our money, our house, our clothes, our possessions, our time, our talent, it is like the landowner in the Gospel letting the tenant farmers work in the vineyard. When we can accept that we are tenants –or stewards and that God is the owner, then we can be grateful for what a good landowner we have, and happily give to God what is rightfully his; his share of the harvest.  Dear Parishioners,
About a month ago you may have noticed that we now have a beautiful and lasting place prepared for the tabernacle. The last two Sunday I spoke to you in the bulletin about Eucharistic Adoration or Devotion.
The Eucharist is the heart of the church. Where the Eucharistic life flourishes, there the life of the church will blossom with many blessings.

Dear Parishioners,

Today's Gospel is a parable of the Kingdom and, once again, it helps confirm that the Kingdom of heaven is truly something else. The concept of the Kingdom of heaven is the second most frequently mentioned idea in the New Testament. It occurs one hundred forty-eight times. Only the word for selfless love-agape-appears more often.
