ALIVE IN CHRIST CAMPAIGN

Last Sunday, November 15 you were not given the usual sermon or homily but a DVD message concerning our Alive in Christ Campaign and the reasons for this Diocesan initiative which is for the benefit of the Diocese and of our parish. I hope and pray that the presentation of this message gives you a better picture of the needs of our Diocese (and also of our parish) that arouse from our Diocesan Synod. This is a five year commitment and I’m sure you will pray over this decision in the next few weeks when you make your pledge.

I mentioned the Alive in Christ Campaign a few times in the parish bulletins and also in the Sunday announcements and I know it will benefit all of us even though we are now in difficult times. I mentioned last Sunday that we need to have faith and trust in God in order to follow the dictates of our Diocesan synod and our Bishop. As always, we have to humbly recognize we need God’s help in this and every other undertaking of our lives. How much you contribute is up to you and God and as St. Paul says: “God loves a cheerful giver.”

I have been your Pastor for the last seven years and I have seen and experienced your generous contributions to our parish. At the beginning of every year, I always said: “Great and better things are in store for us” and I believe that this Alive in Christ Campaign will work wonders for our parish and our Diocese.

I hope that you take seriously this invitation as presented by Bishop Wenski and yours truly.

I again bless you, my good people of God.    Fr. Alex
